The fervent football fans of Portugal can sleep easy now that their team has qualified for the EURO 2016 finals in France next summer. João Moutinho, in his first match back after a lengthy absence due to injury, scored the only goal against Denmark at the AXA Stadium in Braga on October 8. The win assured group qualification but the national side continued their winning ways a few days later with a 2-1 win in Serbia thanks to an early Nani goal and second-half strike from João Moutinho. Iceland, Northern Ireland and Wales have qualified for the finals for the first time and will be in the hat when the draw is made in Paris on December 12.
