Portugal recorded a priceless win over Group Six leaders Russia. The only goal of the game came with 17 minutes left on the clock, from the squad’s man in form – André Martins. Salvador Agra, who impressed with Olhanense last season, hurtled free down the left-wing and produced a deadly cross which Martins headed home. Portugal’s remaining two fixtures are this week against Albania and then away to Poland on September 10. The finals take place in Israel next June.
