Portugal will be sending means to india to help contain propagation of the pandemic, minister for foreign affairs Augusto Santos Silva has announced today. “India has asked for the mobilisation of the European Mechanism for Civil Protection to support the situation it is going through right now – which is in fact very serious – and that mechanism is now contacting different member states to construct a response”, he said – confirming Portugal would be “entering construction of this response through mobilising our Civil Protection Authority, the means of the Ministry of Health and those of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs”.
