Portugal’s Justice Minister has announced plans to criminalise the sale of products claiming to provide “miraculous cures” to people’s health.
Francisca Van Dunem said the new rules will come into effect when Portugal signs the European Commission Medicrime convention on counterfeit medical products and similar crimes. As the law is now, the sale of these kinds of fraudulent products is only punishable by fines.
