Bowls Portugal are due to play Spain in the annual test match at the Vilamoura Bowls Club on November 14 and 15.
Portugal currently has around 400 active bowlers and, in comparison with Spain and its 5,000-plus bowlers, they find themselves at an immediate disadvantage.
However, while bowlers in Spain play on an artificial surface, most bowlers in Portugal compete on a natural grass green, like the one that the test match will be played on in Vilamoura, providing Portugal with a hidden advantage.
Entry to the match is free, and all spectators are welcome.
