For the third year running, Portugal has been dubbed one of the world’s best golfing destinations.
The accolade came on Saturday at the World Golf Awards, which took place at Conrad Algarve in Quinta do Lago.
At the same ceremony last year, Portugal won through as Best European Golfing Venue, and only the year before the Algarve was dubbed Best Golf Destination in the World by Rheingolf magazine.
In fact, both the Algarve and Portugal bid for these titles every year – almost always winning top prizes and distinctions.
Last weekend’s ceremony saw the country’s best golf course named as the Royal Óbidos, while the Algarve’s award-winning Pine Cliffs Resort won another title: Best Portuguese Golfing Hotel.
Elsewhere PAG Serviços Golf and Ingolfe were respectively awarded for being Best Inbound Golf Tour Operator and Best Outbound Golf Tour Operator.
The Laguna Beach Villas and Golf Resort in Brazil won the slot for Best Brazilian Golfing Hotel.
