Portugal set to walk its way out of the crisis

Website Business of Fashion writes this week that Portugal’s leather shoe and accessories industry now represents 3.8% of the global leather goods trade and is “showing real momentum”, with exports from 2006-2013 growing by 213%. According to statistics, the country is now shipping 114,387,000 pairs of shoes and boots worldwide every year – and that’s before quantifying the chic new line of footwear introduced this year by star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.
