In a bid to promote itself as an ideal location for filming, Portugal is taking part for the first time in the Indian International Film Tourism Conclave in Mumbai.
“We are going to showcase the advantages of filming in Portugal, including the recently approved incentives scheme,” Secretary of State for Tourism Ana Mendes Godinho told Lusa news agency.
Other reasons for filming in Portugal include its “natural light, diversity of landscapes, quality of infrastructures – particularly hotels – tolerance and historic tradition of welcoming different cultures”.
The conclave starts on February 23) and runs until Monday (February 27).
Portugal’s promotional trip will also take in “meetings with Indian tour operators and investors” and a visit to the Institute of International Hospital and Education in Goa, which is already part of a student exchange programme between India and Portugal.
