Portugal marked World Science Day today with the presentation in Lisbon of support programmes for scientists who are parents or without grants from the European Research Council (ERC) after passing to the final stage of applications. The two support programmes are to be coordinated by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), the main entity under the government that subsidises scientific research in Portugal and will be included in the government’s State Budget for 2023, final voting on which takes place on Friday.
