Portugal losing integrity

Dear Editor,

In my view, it makes perfect sense to regulate the number of allowable beds in the region (edition, December 19, 2008).

The entire southern area of Portugal is fast losing its integrity. You have only to look at the abomination at the marina in Albufeira to see what I mean.

For the life of me, I do not understand why the new construction cannot be made to look like the traditional Portuguese houses.

Like Greece, people want to see the white houses with the red roofs by the sea. When that disappears, so will the tourism.
