Portugal was Europe’s largest bicycle producer in 2022, according to data released last week by Eurostat. In the last year, 2.7 million bicycles were manufactured in the country, out of a total of 14.7 million bicycles produced within the European bloc.
As a result, Portugal was responsible for approximately 18% of the total bicycle production in Europe. Among the largest producers, Romania also stands out, manufacturing 2.6 million units, followed by Italy (2.5 million), Germany (1.7 million), and Poland (1.0 million).
