Portugal grants 51,232 temporary protection permits following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine

Portugal has granted 51,232 temporary protection permits to Ukrainian citizens and foreigners living in the country who fled the war, with Lisbon responsible for the largest number ((10,912) ) by municipality, SEF borders and immigration service has announced today. 30,575 permits have been issued to women, 20,657 to men – and 13,593 to minors. After Lisbon, municipalities with the highest number of temporary protection permits are Cascais (3,075), Porto (2,493), Sintra (1,763) and Albufeira (1,270).
