More good news for Portugal in a year in which accolades from international travel magazines and guides have come thick and fast. The country has won a total of 14 European prizes at this year’s World Travel Awards, two Mediterranean accolades and another 13 prizes in the Portugal category of the contest.
As national media points out, the Algarve’s beaches won hands down in what is known in the trade as world tourism’s “Oscars”.
