A treat for football fans takes place at the Algarve Stadium in Faro on Wednesday when two of Europe’s top sides go head-to-head. Kick-off at 8.30pm.
All eyes will be on the clash between Dutchman Robin van Persie – 35 goals in 76 internationals – and Cristiano Ronaldo, who surprisingly has only been on target on 39 occasions in his 104 appearances for Portugal. Other stars on show are the impressive Fábio Coentrão (Real Madrid), João Moutinho (Monaco), Raul Meireles and Bruno Alves (Fernerbache, Turkey) whilst the Dutch squad includes Ron Vlaar (Aston Villa), Michel Vorm (Swansea City) Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich) and Ricky van Wolfswinkel, who joined Norwich City from Sporting during the summer break.
Tickets for the game, €10, €15 and €20, can be purchased at Continente supermarkets and those with a store loyalty card will have 50% of the purchase price refunded to their card.
It is strongly advised that tickets are purchased prior to the game particularly after the chaos last August when Panama were the visitors.
Tickets will also be on sale, subject to availability, at the Stadium on the day of the game. Fans are advised to arrive as early as possible.
