Portugal has climbed one slot in the IMD Global Competitiveness Index, and is now in position 36. This sounds ‘better than it is’. Porto Business School – one of the IMD partners in the study – stresses that when it comes to ‘economic performance’ and ‘government efficiency’ the country has actually lost points. The 2021 ranking is led by Switzerland, Sweden and Denmark.
