Following a number of high-profile incidents nationally – not least the shocking collapse of a crane on top of a residential building three months ago (click here) – the mayor of Porto Rui Moreira has set up a commission to “accompany the mounting of cranes in the city”.
He has also created a working group to make proposals on how to improve national regulations surrounding the erection and maintenance of cranes.
