Porto airport “best in Europe”

Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport in Porto is the best in Europe, according to an international study by consumer watchdog DECO.
Nearly 10,000 passengers in 153 airports across the world were questioned on the time it took to reach the departure gate, the quality of seating/TV screens, and the whole boarding process.
Porto airport obtained the fifth best overall score – placing it behind Asian airports Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Dubai – but first in Europe, sharing the slot with Hamburg (and a joint score of 80).
Lisbon’s airport placed 24th in the international ranking with an overall score of 75, two points ahead of Funchal (54th) and three points ahead of Ponta Delgada (67th), with Faro bringing up the rear in 70th position.
Deco’s study also focused on airline companies. To obtain their results, they took into account each operator’s punctuality, comfort, boarding process and schedules.
Out of the 76 operators analysed, Portugal’s TAP ranked in 32nd position, while SATA came in at 44th.
The overall winners were Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Cathay Pacific and Qatar Airways.
