Portimonense: The heat is on

Portimonense’s pre-season kicks off at 5pm this Saturday against Monaco in Lagos (Municipal Stadium), not the Stadium of the Algarve as previously announced.

The immediately following matches with Birmingham (Tuesday, in Ferreiras, 7pm kick-off) and Porto (Thursday, July 14, in Portimão, 10.30am kick-off) remain unchanged.

The latest fixture to be confirmed also sees manager Paulo Sérgio’s team take on José Mourinho’s Roma on Saturday, July 16, at 7pm at Albufeira’s Municipal Stadium.

Meanwhile, the futures of several key players are still up in the air with Italian Serie A side Spezia Calcio the latest suitors for the services of central defender Willyan, although an initial €3 million offer has been turned down by the Algarveans. Goalkeeper Samuel continues to be linked with Udinese, Filipe Relvas is wanted by Hamburg and Moufi could be on his way to France.

Negotiations for the loan extensions of Angulo and Nakajima are ongoing.
