Portimonense: Hard times

As the enforced suspension of all sporting activities continues, manager Paulo Sérgio has expressed concerns over the fitness levels of his squad.

There is no club training and the small tourist apartments used to house most players offer little room for exercise. Some have returned to their homes in other parts of Portugal while January CSKA Moscow transfer window loanee midfielder Takuma Nishimura left for Japan earlier this week without ever having started a first team game. Other on-loan players here and abroad see their futures up in the air.

Meanwhile, Portimonense have also put their plans for next season on hold as the world of football awaits a decision as how to proceed as league seasons and Cup competitions had to be abandoned prematurely with many promotion and relegation issue still to be resolved.
