Portimonense football club, still without manager

Portimonense || Despite previous indications to the contrary, Portimonense football club is still manager-less.
“The invitation from President Fernando Rocha to return to the club where I was very happy greatly honoured me,” coach-in-waiting Litos told the press. “It was what I wanted, but the amount of time that had elapsed between the first contacts and today (at the time of speaking) has led me to believe that I do not have the unanimous backing of the board for the job. It is thus, with much regret, that I must decline the offer.”
As the search for a manager continues, the fixtures for the coming season have already been announced. Portimonense kick off at home against Sporting Covilhã on August 9 while other highlights include the Algarve derbies with Farense – September 21 (away) / March 1 (home) – and Olhanense scheduled to be played on November 2 (away) / March 22 (home).
Before then the first phase of the League Cup competition gets under way as soon as the end of this month, with Portimonense taking on fellow second division sides AC Viseu, Freamunde and Covilhã in Group B.
