Portimonense – Cup action

Portimonense return to competitive action following last week’s final World Cup qualifying double-header by travelling to the Beja district where manager Vítor Oliveira’s men take on non-league Moura AC in the third round of the Portuguese FA Cup this Sunday afternoon.

The Algarveans made good use of the international break by restoring Jadson, Lucas and Inácio to full fitness, all of whom will be available for selection at the weekend in contrast to Lumor, still on duty with Ghana who failed to make ‘Russia 2018’ with Egypt qualifying from their group.

Portimonense also enjoyed a training game with Olhanense in order to maintain match fitness during the interval, Vítor Oliveira fielding different teams for the two times 50-minute sessions played behind closed doors.

The first half saw Paulinho cement his understanding with Nakajima, providing the final pass on two occasions for the Japanese forward to grab a brace as Pedro Sá added a third just before the break.

Wellington made it four half-way through the second playing period before Mailó pulled one back for the visitors from the Eastern Algarve.
