Former Portimonense second choice keeper Payam Niazmand has made his current loan move to Iranian side Sepahan permanent, triggering a €1 million payment to the Algarveans.
More funds could be on the way should ex-striker Beto leave present Italian club Udinese this summer and on-loan Lucas Fernandes decide to stay with Botafogo in Brazil.
Likely to join the summer exodus are underperforming Bryan Rochez and unwanted Ricardo Matos whilst South Korean U-20 international Kim Yong-Hak is staying in Portimão after making his loan arrangement permanent. Fellow reserve team talents Ricardo Sousa and Davis could also be given a chance to establish themselves in the first team squad.
Lastly, the final significant end-of-season encounter on the pitch saw third-placed second division club Estrela da Amadora triumph over top division Marítimo 3-2 on penalties in their promotion/relegation play-off clash after the sides remained tied 3-3 on aggregate following the home and away legs.
The result means considerably less away travel for Portimonense (and Farense) next season as both clubs from the autonomous regions of Madeira and the Azores – Marítimo and Santa Clara – have been relegated.
