Dear Editor,
I know that Portimão council is basically bankrupt, but couldn’t it find some way of improving the roads in the town so that we don’t have to watch out for huge potholes every time it rains!
The problem is that the potholes are never fixed. When it rains, they simply fill them up with sand or some unstable kind of tar, which only solves the problem temporarily.
Last week I had to swerve out of the way of a metre-long pothole on my way to work. It’s been filled with sand for a week but nothing really serious has been done to cover it up.
If it rains a lot soon, it’s only a matter of time before someone’s tires get ripped apart by the gap.
