Portimão welcomes Algarve’s Gastronomy Brotherhood

Portimão will host the 17th Great Chapter of the Algarve’s Gastronomy Brotherhood (Confraria dos Gastrónomos do Algarve) between Friday and Sunday (October 1-3).

The event will bring together around 200 Portuguese, Spanish, French and Italian members, who will celebrate their love of good food. Also expected to attend are top chefs from restaurants across the Algarve.

Festivities begin on Friday with a guided tour of the local museum, followed by a wine tasting event and dinner at Hotel Presidente in Praia da Rocha.
The following morning, members will visit Tempo theatre for a welcome breakfast, after which they will be gifted souvenirs by Portimão Mayor Isilda Gomes and the Brotherhood’s President.

The group will then visit the nearby Igreja Matriz church, accompanied by the Sociedade Filarmónica Portimonense musical group, where several gastronomic brotherhoods will gather.

A gala dinner and prize-giving ceremony for the ‘Prémios de Santa Maria de Ossónoba’ will be held later at the Tivoli Marina Hotel.

The final event will be a lunch on Sunday at Praia da Rocha’s F restaurant.
