In an effort to keep its roundabouts well-maintained without having to spend any money, Portimão’s cash-strapped council has decided to ‘rent out’ roundabouts to companies in exchange for gardening services.
The deal does not involve cash. It simply means companies can use the roundabouts to advertise their business, as long as they keep them looking neat and tidy in the meantime.
Around 30 roundabouts are involved in the scheme, including some on the town’s busy V3 and V6 avenues and in Praia da Rocha.
Bids to take part must be handed before February 29.
For more information, businesses should get in touch with the town hall between 9am and 1pm and 2pm and 5pm.
