Portimão schools receive Modelo computers

AN INITIATIVE launched by the Modelo supermarket chain has made it possible for a total of 500 schools in Portugal to receive free computers, including 11 schools within the borough of Portimão. Thousands of children, parents and teachers took part in the scheme that required schools to collect 1,500 points to win a computer. For every 25 euros spent on groceries in Modelo, shoppers were awarded one point that could be attributed to the school of their choice. The first 500 schools to collect the required points were put on the delivery list to receive the complimentary equipment. The initiative surpassed all expectations with more than 4,000 schools joining.
