Portimão riverside “Colour Party” to raise money for charity

Thousands expected for riverside party

Around 5,000 people are expected for ‘Festival Colour Party 2022’, which will take place on Sunday (June 26) at Portimão’s riverside in a bid to raise money for local charity association GRATO.

The event will feature a performance by Putzgrilla, a group that mixes electronic music with Hip-Hop and Afrobeat and has amassed over 20 million views on YouTube. They have also performed on some of Portugal’s largest stages, such as at the MEO Sudoeste and RFM SOMNII festivals.

And if you’re thinking of attending, it’s best to wear clothes you won’t be using again, as colour parties involve spraying or dousing revellers with vibrant coloured sprays.

Tickets cost €5 if purchased until Thursday (June 23) and €7.50 after this date. Tickets include a bag of ecological paint and coloured wristbands to identify underage and adult revellers.

Proceeds will go to GRATO, which runs a children’s home and supports recovering drug addicts in the town.
