DONA BARCA, a restaurant in Portimão which has long featured in the city’s own gastronomy festival, is to represent the Algarve at the 25th edition of Santarém’s National Gastronomy Festival, which continues until November 6.
Each day of the festival is dedicated to a different region and November 1 represents the turn of the Algarve. Dona Barca has plenty of treats in store, including grilled fresh fish, octopus and clams with rice, shellfish feijoada (shellfish and bean broth), fried squid, açorda de marisco (seafood stew with bread), cockles, black jewfish with prawns and fried moray.
As well as promoting traditional recipes from the Algarve, Dona Barca will serve as an information point in order to publicise the borough of Portimão. Promotional literature will be available to the general public.
