Rua Infante D. Henrique, one of Portimão’s main entrance roads linking the so-called ‘old bridge’ to the Gil Eanes Square, is undergoing a major revamp this week.
The renovations started today (Tuesday, January 26) and will last six days.
Traffic on the old bridge between Lagoa and Portimão has been cut off today and will be again on Friday due to the works. However, the bridge will be closed to heavy vehicles during the entirety of the six-day revamp.
The repaving works on Rua Infante D. Henriques will be carried out in phases and are part of a larger €800,000 road improvement project.
In a statement to the press, Portimão Council has appealed for the understanding of drivers due to the inconveniences caused by the renovations.
