PORTIMÃO PORT was represented at the Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention in Miami, USA, this week.
Following an agreement between Expo Arade and the Instituto de Portos e Transportes Marítimos (IPTM), the country’s authority in ports, Portimão’s maritime port was the only one to be represented from the Algarve.
Local authorities expect to have the port ready for the large cruise liners before the end of April, after the dredging works, which started in October, are concluded.
Lisbon, Leixões in Porto and the Azores ports were also promoted at this event. The Miami Seatrade Convention attracts thousands of exhibitors from 118 countries.
