Photos were submitted as part of a national competition
An exhibition featuring photos which showcase Portugal’s fish canning industry will be inaugurated at Portimão Museum on Saturday (April 15) at 5pm.
The exhibition features the top-voted entries of a national photography competition organised by the National Association of Fish Canning Industries (ANICP).
The competition challenged photographers to take a “creative look” at the fish canning industry, from the fishing and canning process all the way to the point when canned fish reaches the plate.
A total of 178 photos were submitted, with several of the best being selected to be exhibited in several locations across the country including the national Parliament.
The inauguration in Portimão will be followed by a tasting of Portuguese canned fish.
The exhibition will remain on display until May 14 and can be visited on Tuesday from 2.30pm to 6pm and between Wednesday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
