Portimão is capital of tasty snacks

Food lovers with a hankering after tasty savoury snacks and something sweet to follow will be in for a treat at the ‘Rota do Petisco’ event which runs at 70 different establishments in Portimãobetween September 6 and October 13.

It’s the third event of its kind promoted by the Associação Teia D’Impulsos.

A total of 58 snack menus plus 12 different traditional sweets will be on offer and tasting will cost only €2.5 and €2 respectively.

A ‘passport’ to take part can be obtained in the tourism office of Portimão or the Portimão Museum.

The concept is to be extended also to Praia da Rocha, Alvor and Ferragudo.

A donation of €1 will be asked from each participant purchasing a Rota do Petisco passport to go towards a fund in support of needy children and elderly people in the area, namely the Centro Social de Nª. Sr.ª do Amparo in Portimão, the Lar de Crianças Bom Samaritano in Alvor and the Centro de Apoio a Idosos de Ferragudo.
