Portimão is hosting a series of free night-time walks this summer – two in Alvor (July 2 and August 13) and another in the town’s historic centre (July 23).
The Alvor strolls will explore the fishing village’s Islamic heritage, including some buildings almost 1,000 years old. Both begin at 10pm near the town cemetery.
The other will focus on Portimão’s “cultural richness” and begins near the town’s riverside bandstand.
