Portimão hosts second ‘Get in the Ring’ business pitch competition

Portimão will host the second edition of the ‘Get in the Ring’ competition on Monday, May 13.

The event encourages businesspeople to pitch their business ideas in an actual boxing ring, with the goal being to present a better pitch than their adversary.

Organised by the town’s business incubator Startup Portimão, the contest will be held at the Centro de Treinos de Portimão in Coca Maravilhas.

Participants must have an “innovative and scalable business idea and a startup company under the age of eight in one of three areas – technology, tourism and environment”.

They must also “speak English fluently” in order to pitch their idea and understand the feedback from the jury.

Jochem Cuppen, director and co-founder of the Get in the Ring competition, will be the host of the event.

The winner will take part in the national final which will be held in Ericeira. The ultimate winner will then represent Portugal at the Global Meetup 2019 which will be held in Berlin in June.
