Portimão high school closes due to protests

Teachers, school staff, students and their parents held a demonstration on Monday morning (November 4) that led to the closure of Portimão’s Manuel Teixeira Gomes high school. Protesters were complaining that the school is in dire need of more staff and warned that one of the school’s buildings is in desperate need of renovations, the last of which were carried out in 1984.
