Two dogs that were “at risk of drowning” at Portimão’s water treatment plant (ETAR) were rescued by firefighters on Saturday afternoon (July 8).
The animals – a Labrador and a Perdigueiro (Portuguese Pointer) – were spotted at around 2pm by a passer-by who called the local Bombeiros. One of animals had fallen into the water while the other about to follow.
They were saved by five firefighters but ran away as soon as they were brought to safety.
They did not seem to be injured, David Franco from the Portimão Bombeiros told Correio da Manhã tabloid.
In January, local firemen had already rescued another dog that was stuck in mud near the ETAR (click here).
