Portimão Council has delivered another four ventilators to the local public hospital, bringing the total number of ventilators donated so far to eight.
In March, the council announced that around €350,000 that was due to be invested in a powerboat sports event in Portimão would instead be used to purchase 24 new ventilators as well as a Pulmovista – a device, costing over €50,000, that helps determine what sort of pulmonary treatment is most adequate for each patient.
The remaining ventilators and the Pulmovista are expected to arrive in Portimão in the coming weeks, the council adds.
