For many years it was one of the worst payers in Portugal when it came to municipal bills, but finally there is good news. Portimão council has gone from taking an average of 4,628 days (around 13 years) to pay its bills in 2014 to just 18 days this past September. The data comes from the quarterly report released by the board of local council (DGAL).
