PORTIMÃO WILL be the host city for the final round of the UIM Powerboat P1 World Championship for the next three years.
The decision was announced on January 8, at the London Boat Show, ExCel, at Docklands in the UK.
In 2007, the P1 Powerboat Grand Prix will start in Malta over the weekend of May 5 and 6, ending in Portimão, over the weekend of September 29 and 30.
The 40 million euro resort of Marina de Portimão, part of a major initiative to revitalise and enhance the coastline of the Algarve, will host to the event.
