A seafood cataplana served at the small Portimão restaurant Zizá has been selected as one of the 14 finalists of Coca-Cola’s new food festival ‘Adoramos a nossa gastronomia’ (We love our gastronomy).
Including shrimp and other seafood delicacies, the cataplana will be the sole representative of Algarve cuisine in the final, which takes place this weekend (October 23-25) at Lisbon’s Meo Arena.
Between April and June, a total of 1,200 restaurants in Portugal took part in the first stage of the competition, putting up their signature dish in hopes of reaching the final in Lisbon.
Now, the 14 winning dishes can be tasted at the Meo Arena between 7pm and 11pm on Friday, midday and 11pm on Saturday, and midday and 4pm on Sunday.
Popular Portuguese artists such as António Zambujo and Rita Guerra will also be performing. Tickets cost €2.5.
But for those who cannot make the trip, Zizá’s is inviting everyone to come and taste their dish at the popular restaurant on Rua Júdice Fialho, alongside the river.
