If this is going to be an airport – open to charter flights etc – I think it is a good idea.
Portimão is expanding and a new airport is overdue – Faro airport is not keeping up with the traffic levels and the facilities are poor.
A new access road is needed from the A22 and it just isn’t possible with the built-up area. Siting it near the race track opens up the whole area and access would be very good.
