When one hits the half century most of us would look forward to a special night out and then drop back into a normal daily routine.

But not for a certain Tanya Fox, who last year on reaching that special milestone, announced she would be attempting to cycle 5,000kms in the next twelve months.

This daunting challenge, almost equivalent to peddling to her native home Leeds and back, was completed in just fifty weeks!

Three years ago, Tanya had a serious crash, so the achievement was even more creditable.  To mark the occasion, friends held a surprise dinner for Tanya and husband Mark at the Old Barrel in Cabanas Tavira.
