Portugal is the fourth most searched for holiday destination at property rentals website Homelidays.
Established in Portugal since 2005, the holiday rentals portal has 173,000 Portuguese members, with Portugal representing 11.1% of the property searches. Sofia Dias, responsible for the Portugal and Brazil markets at Homelidays, said: “In 2011, the number of Portuguese property owners registered on the website increased by 41% on the previous year. Douro is the region with the highest increase in new property owners, but the majority of registrations come for the Algarve.” Portugal is searched mainly by the French, Portuguese and Spanish.
