This is the message from ECO online today, perhaps unaware that the popcorn price at NOS cinemas has always been a little surprising. Now, due to the increased cost of corn and sunflower oil, popcorn will be even more expensive. Cinema director Nuno Aguiar assures that “for the time being” there should be no changes in ticket prices. NOS sold 3.45 million tickets in 2021 – a fall of more than 60% on numbers pre-pandemic. The business believes cinema-goers will return, and even beat pre-pandemic numbers in the medium term, says ECO.
