Pop-up restaurant at Leiken

A ‘pop-up’ winter-only restaurant has opened at Leiken, a designer kitchen showroom in Almancil, making full use of the ultra-modern display-cooking facility.

Located on the top floor of the showroom, the tables are placed in front of the cooking stations, allowing diners to see what’s going on and fully interact with the chefs.

The restaurant is operated by private catering company Fine Dining in Style, and offers a light, modern international menu, with the choice of two courses for €15 and three courses for €20.

Sample dishes include rosti with smoked salmon, crème fraiche and green salad; pan-fried sea-bass on a creamy cucumber salad; cold thinly sliced roast beef with horseradish, seasonal vegetables and sautéed potatoes; lemon meringue tart and berries; and Eton Mess with strawberry soup. The small, select wine list will change weekly.

Running from October to March, the restaurant will be open for lunch on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 12pm to 2.30pm, and for dinner on Saturday evenings from 7pm to 9.30pm.
