The spring production by the Algarveans Experimental Theatre Group is well under way and cast, set builders, painters and costume makers are all hard at work.
Dear Old Uncle George, a comedy written and directed by David Butler-Cole, centres on the so-called ‘accidental’ demise of George Pyles by a supermarket mechanical sweeper! Auntie Gladys, his nubile and multi-married widow organises a rather rapid funeral and Bobby Peel the local constable investigates the mysterious goings on.
With nephews Alec and Ada, an insurance agent called Harry Nash who has managed to never pay out on a policy in 25 years of business, piranha fish, a lady of a certain profession and spies who meet in the park, the plot thickens until all is finally revealed.
The play will be performed at Lagoa Auditorium on May 17, 18 and 19 at 8.30pm and tickets are now on sale for €10.
