A mass of air blowing in from north Africa today has reduced the quality of air on the Portuguese mainland. The DGS health authority is recommended “extra care to be taken by the most sensitive of the population, namely children and the elderly”. The phenomenon is expected to stay in place until Tuesday at which point rain may also arrive, which will reduce the amount of dust particles in the atmosphere.
