Poll results – October 12, 2007 – Maternity leave support

The question that was asked:

In light of the world breastfeeding week, which started on Monday October 8, do you believe that mothers in Portugal should be better supported in terms of longer maternity leave as recommended by the World Health Organisation?

The results:

77% voted Yes

12% voted No

11% voted Don’t Know

AN OVERWHELMING majority of online readers believe that in light of worldwide breastfeeding week, which started on Monday October 8, mothers in Portugal should be better supported in terms of longer maternity leave, as recommended by the World Health Organisation.

A total of 77 per cent of voters believe that not enough support is being given, whereas 12 per cent of online readers said that they did not believe mothers should be better supported by the government and 11 per cent did not have an opinion.
