Recent public statements by the President of Iran stating that the holocaust is a myth has prompted French MEP Daniel Cohn-Bendit to call for Iran’s exclusion from the 2006 World Cup. Fifa spokesman Andreas Herren has said that such an option cannot be considered, politics and sport being separate issues.
