Politicians and businesses got round the table on Tuesday (April 28) to discuss ways of banishing the scourge of gender inequality.
The idea for equal pay for both sexes was proposed by the government after a report found that women in Portugal are still paid 18% less than men for doing the same work.
According to Lusa news agency, among government suggestions is that companies should be able to apply for EU funding to offer women equal pay.
